Govt striving to provide best medical facilities in hospitals: Yasmeen Rashid

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid on Friday said that the provincial government was striving to provide modern and best treatment facilities in public sector hospitals to facilitate the patients.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Yasmeen Rashid said that the process of accountability had been started in health department.

She said that strict action would be taken against the illegal warehouses and those officers who were involved for not purchasing medicines timely. Basic purpose to change the law of Pakistan Kidney Liver Institute for ensuring the best treatment facilities to the patients, the minister added.

According to a statement released from the ministry, Yasmeen Rashid said that the health department had already been completed working on the seniority of lady health supervisor and lady health worker for their promotion. She said that in such circumstances, call of lady health supervisors and lady health workers for the protest and sit-in was not less than the blackmailing.

She lauded the services of lady health workers for family planning in rural area and added that health department would soon announce good news about their promotion.

The minister said that recruitment process of lady health workers would be formally started from this year throughout Punjab.

Protest for the genuine demands is a basic right of everyone but doing politics on the demands which have already been accepted is a condemnable act, she added.
