ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) lead counsel Hamid Khan has refused to represent the party in the Panama papers case, ARY News reported.
According to ARY News reporter Wasif Mehmood, the senior lawyer excused himself from representing PTI in the case after criticism from various quarters within the party.
A number of PTI leaders had criticised Hamid Khan over his ‘poor performance in the court’.
Sources say that PTI is mulling contacting Aitzaz Ahsan or Babar Awan to lead the prosecution in the case against the ruling Sharif family.
Reacting to the news of Hamid’s refusal to represent PTI, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted “a bad workman always blames his tools”
Meanwhile PML-N leader Mohammad Zubair claimed that the veteran lawyers should not be blamed for poor performance as there was “no evidence” that the “poor” lawyer could fight for.
It’s not Hamid’s fault. IK misled him in believing there’s lot of evidence. In the end, Hamid khan was told to go n fight a lost cause

#IK should fire his advisors not Hamid Khan as there is no case to plead 4 lawyers, with fairy tale stories fed to him.
