At a time when Kamal’s main rival Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is facing a crackdown after the party chief Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan speech on August 22.
Kamal, who announced the formation of his party after a press conference against Altaf Hussain back in March , went out to meet people on Korangi streets, addressed them and promised to solve all their issues if they choose his party to serve them.
“When you will stop killing each other, you will be able to ask your elected leaders about your real issues,” Kamal told the crowd.
The PSP leader urged the workers and supporters to shun politics of ethnicity and embrace all Pakistanis, whether they are Punjabis, Sindhis, Pathan or Baloch as brothers.
Kamal’s Korangi visit ended with a flag-hoisting ceremony.
Altaf’s anti-Pakistan speech and attack on ARY News
MQM chief Altaf Hussain reportedly issued anti-Pakistan statements and urged his followers to raise “Pakistan Murdabad” (death to Pakistan) slogans in his August 22 speech outside Karachi Press Club. Though Altaf rendered a formal apology after the speech, a party leader who resigned after the speech, claimed that Altaf defended his speech in a telephone call even after the apology.
The speech also incited MQM workers to attack media houses which resulted in attack on ARY News office.
