BISHKEK: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday was seated beside his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj during the meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperating Organization (SCO) countries.
The meeting of foreign ministers of SCO member countries was briefly attended by Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov today.
Earlier in Islamabad prior to his departure for the two-day session, the foreign minister said that he will meet his counterparts from eight countries on the sidelines of Bishkek meeting of the foreign ministers.
Expressing concern over the changing regional situation, Qureshi said he wanted to meet especially with the foreign ministers of China and Russia.
“I also want to hold consultations with five permanent members of the SCO,” he said.
After return from the visit, a special meeting on the changing situation of the region will be held in Islamabad to review the situation, he added.
“We will give our clear point of view to the foreign minister of Iran after review of the situation,” Qureshi stated.
