ISLAMABAD: Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Salman Shehbaz, the sons of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, did not appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Ramzan sugar mill case today.
According to the details, NAB had summoned Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Salman Shehbaz, the directors of Ramzan Sugar Mill, today for construction of a bridge by national wealth illegally to facilitate their mill. Sources said that Rs200 million were paid illegally from national treasury to construct the bridge.
The NAB team kept waiting for them but the two brothers did not appear before the court.
Sources said that Hamza Shahbaz Sharif preferred to attend a party meeting over court orders. Whereas his brother Salman Shehbaz left the country today.
They had been summoned over allegations that a bridge costing at least Rs200 million was constructed for the sugar mill with government funds. According to reports, Shehbaz Sharif had given illegal orders for the construction.
Hamza is already under scrutiny over the Punjab Saaf Paani Company case and has appeared before the anti-graft body a number of times.
On the other hand, Salman is being investigated for owning assets beyond stated means of income. He has also appeared before NAB a number of times.
