It should be noted that hard-line Indian parties have told Pakistan actors to leave the country following an attack on the Indian military base in Uri sector of held Jammu and Kashmir. Fawad Khan has already returned from India following the threats.
According to Deccan Chronicle, a director in the Bollywood industry claimed that Pakistani artists have been advised by their government to stay in the country and work on local projects.
“Apparently, the fine actors and musicians who work in our country have been advised by their government to stay home and seek work there. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Fawad or Ali Zafar in Mumbai in the near future,” he said.
The Pakistani actor was expected to promote Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with his co-stars in the second week of October. It is likely that the actor won’t be present in the promotion ceremonies.
Karan Johar’s ADHM stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in major roles. The film is scheduled to be released on 28th October this year.
Hardline party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had earlier said that the group will not let Karan Johar release his movie unless all scenes of Fawad Khan are omitted from the flick.
Salman Khan in a telephone call to MNS founder Raj Thackeray recently asked him to allow the films, starring Pakistani actors, to be released peacefully.
