Senior Civil Judge issued non-bailable arrest warrant of Abdul Aziz on the request of the investigation officer during the hearing.
A First Information Report was registered against the cleric at Aabpara Police Station of Islamabad. The FIR was registered under section 506 (2) of the Pakistan Penal Code which states punishment for criminal intimidation or threats.
The civil society activists gathered outside Lal Masjid last week to protest a statement of the cleric in which he refused to condemn the massacre at the Army Public School of Peshawar on December 16th.
