A complaint in this connection was taken to the Sindh High Court to seek version of the authorities concerned about the incident.
A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi presided over proceedings of the case. A representative of non-governmental organization ‘Raah-e-Raast’ Trust approached the court and contended in a petition that the original manuscript of the 1973 Constitution was stolen in August 2011, however no case could be registered despite lapse of three years. He said the constitution was not available in the archives section of the National Assembly.
He claimed to have written letters to the Interior Ministry, but no reply was received from the ministry as well.
After hearing arguments, the court wrote a letter to the federal government, asking it to enlighten the court regarding veracity of the matter.
