SWABI: A man and his wife who recently married of their own freewill were shot dead in Pabeni area of Swabi on Wednesday morning, ARY News reported.
According to police, the couple was shot dead by father and brother of the girl at her residence. The identity of the deceased wife and husband could not be ascertained as yet. The men fled the scene spraying the couple with bullets at their home.
Police said they had registered the case and going after the culprits to arrest them.
In a similar incident five days ago, a couple was shot dead for marrying out of their own freewill in Rawalpindi.
Police said unidentified assailants in a car opened fire at the couple identified as Akhlaq and his spouse Ramsha, critically injuring them. They succumbed to gunshot wounds on the spot.
The police said the couple had recently tied the knot out of their own freewill.
