Cold weather conditions continue to prevail across country

KARACHI: Frosty weather conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of the country for next few days, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts on Saturday.

The weather department says currently continental air is prevailing over the most parts of the country, intensifying the ongoing cold spell.

‘Very’ cold weather is expected in Balochistan and northern parts of the country, besides dense foggy conditions over plains of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours, the weather forecasting department said.

People around the country have put on warm clothes to fight frosty weather conditions.

In last 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara divisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During this time period, rainfall reported at a number of places. According to the met department rainfall measured at Mirkhani 06mm, Chitral 01mm and Parachinar 05mm.

The minimum temperature in Pakistan today recorded in Quetta, Kalat, Kalam -08°C, Malamjabba -06°C, Parachinar, Gupis -05°C, and Astore -04°C.

The weather department has forecast minimum temperate in Karachi today as 11 degree Celsius and maximum 25°C during the next 24 hours.
