RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday visited the Mujahid Force Centre at Bhimber and installed Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar as Colonel Commandant of the force.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, COAS General Qamar Javed appreciated contributions and sacrifices of Mujahid Force particularly along the Line of Control.
A large number of serving and retired officers including from Mujahid Force were present at the occasion. Later, the COAS interacted with the officers and soldiers of Mujahid Force.
It is pertinent to mention here that COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, on November 21, had visited the Line of Control (LoC) and appreciated the soldiers’ state of readiness and morale and the resilience of civilian Kashmiri population who are being deliberately targeted by Indian army on both sides of the LOC.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) had given the army chief a briefing on the situation along the LOC, Indian ceasefire violations (CFVs) and response by the Pakistan Army, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
