China lauded efforts of Pakistan to have a dialogue with India while appreciating its restraint in action during recent tensions with its eastern neighbour, Radio Pakistan reported.
In a statement, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou said Beijing and Islamabad are all-weather strategic partners and they have always supported each other.
He said “China has closely followed the situation between Pakistan and India, and appreciates Pakistan’s remaining calm and exercising restraint from being first in action, and persisting in easing tension with India through dialogue.”
The Chinese vice Foreign Minister said China believes that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected and does not wish to see acts violating the norms of international relations.
Calling on Pakistan and India to initiate dialogue as soon as possible, the Chinese official urged the neighbouring countries to work together to maintain regional peace and stability.
