ATC extends suspects’ remand in Rimsha murder case

KHAIRPUR: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday extended the remand of three suspects in Rimsha murder case for three more day for further investigations.

Hearing the Rimsha murder case, the court, on the request of police, decided to extend the physical remand of the suspects for three more days.

According to the details, police produced the prime suspect, Zulfiqar Wassan alias Zulfoo , his associates nominated in the case, Ghaffar Wassan and Sabir Wassan before the court amid strict security upon expiry of their physical remand.

The police also produced the crime weapon before the court and pleaded the court to extend the remand for further investigations.

It is pertinent to mention here that Rimsha, 13 was kidnapped and shot dead on February 3. Her mother alleged Zulfiqar Wassan for killing Rimsha. She said that her daughter was first kidnapped and a few days after she was recovered, the suspect stormed into their house and killed her.

Sources said that Zulfiqar Wassan was a close aide of MNA Nawab Wassan.

Earlier, police on February 5, had  arrested a cook of special assistant to chief minister Sindh, Nawab Wasan, over his alleged links with the key suspect in Rimsha murder case.

Imtiaz Wasan, the cook, was in contact with Zulfikar Wasan, who was the key suspect in Rimsha murder case, said the police.
