KARACHI: Amjad Sabri’s brother Talha Sabri on Monday demanded that the famed qawwal’s killers be arrested and hanged on the same spot they killed the artist back in June, ARY News reported.
Talking exclusively to ARY News after Chief Minister Sindh’s press conference, Talha Sabri welcomed the arrest of suspects in the case and expressed his desire of seeing the killers of Sabri hanged till death publicly and on the same spot they killed his brother.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, in a presser, announced the arrest of a number of suspects in the case including Asim alias Capri- a man he claimed lived in the same neighbourhood as the qawwal’s family.
Talha Sabri, however, denied any knowledge about Asim Capri but lauded the government for their speedy action in the case.
Amjad Sabri’s murder
On June 22, two motorcyclists opened fire on qawwal Amjad Sabri’s car in Liaquatabad Town critically injuring Sabri, an associate and his driver. Sabri was shot twice in the head and once on the ear.
The three men including Sabri were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Sabri died shortly after. His murder occurred near an underpass named after his father.
