Those sacked for corruption include one major general, one Lt. Gen, five brigadiers, and three lieutenant colonels.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel on Wednesday had quite vocally stated that across-the-board accountability was essential for prosperous Pakistan.
The officers who have been dismissed include:
- Lt. Gen. Ubaidullah Khattak
- Maj. Gen. Ejaz Shahid
- Lt Col Haider
- Maj. Najeeb
- Brig. Rasheed
- Brig. Aamir
- Brig. Asad
- Brig. Saifullah
According to senior political analyst Dr. Shahid Masood said 11 top officers of Pakistan Army had been dismissed and all their privileges, benefits, and medals had been taken back.

“On going war against terrorism and extremism being fought with the backing of entire nation cannot bring enduring peace and stability unless the menace of corruption is uprooted, remarked the army chief during his visit to the Signal Regimental Centre Kohat on Wednesday.
“Pakistan’s Armed Forces will fully support every meaningful effort in that direction which would ensure a better future for our next generations.”
He said steps would be taken to eliminate corruption as well as terrorism for progress of Pakistan. These initiatives will reflect in development of the country.
