LAHORE: Terming accountability compulsory for country’s stability, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said that the government will stop the accountability process at any cost.
Addressing the special ceremony pertaining to Punjab government’s first 100 days’ performance in Lahore, PM Imran said the county’s future is in danger until all the corrupt have not been sent to jail.
The PM said that the previous government had spent half of whole provincial budget on the development of Lahore city alone and added that even funds for labor community were diverted to Lahore.
Expressing displeasure over election of Shehbaz Sharif as Chairman Public Accounts Committee, PM Imran said that the world would laugh on us for electing a prisoner head of the key parliamentary body for accountability.
He said that our current economic condition is due to corruption by previous rulers and added that our export is worth 24billion dollars only which is far less than small states like Singapore.
PM Imran also lauded the 100-day performance of Punjab government and appreciated its determination of fair distribution of funds. Appreciating the honesty of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman, the prime minister said that no one told him that the chief minister is involve in corruption.
