The meeting was held in Islamabad with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair.
Through another proposal, the Ministry of Industries and Production requested increase in subsidy on sugar during the month of Ramazan facilitating Utility Stores Corporation to sell sugar to customers at economical price.
The ECC approved increase in amount of subsidy on sugar from 3 to 5 rupees per KG. This step would add around 100 million rupees to the amount of subsidy already approved by the ECC.
