COLOMBIA: A dog, reportedly devastated, has died of a broken heart a Columbian airport after her owner abandoned her and never came back even after a month.
According to reports, people tried to feed the dog at Bucaramanga Airport, Colombia, after she was left there for more than four weeks.
They called her Nube Viajera, which means ‘travelling cloud’ as they cared for her while waiting for her owner to return. But she is said to have been too sad to eat regularly and eventually stopped eating altogether, affecting her physical health.
Alejandro Sotomonte Nino, a vet from the Colombian Animal Protection Foundation, said: ‘The hypothesis we have is that a traveller abandoned it.
Apparently, during the first month that the dog was at the airport, it was going through the halls looking for someone, possibly the owner. ‘That state of waiting deteriorated its health, to the point that she no longer received food.
