ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Daniyal Aziz on Thursday demanded an apology from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeem-ul-Haq for slapping him during a TV show.
The federal minister while speaking to media outside an accountability court appeared adamant and said that he firmly stands by his words that PTI leaders are ‘certified thieves’.
“Instead of apologising for Naeem-ul-Haq slapping me, PTI leaders are saying that my words provoked him,” said Aziz adding that PTI should be grateful that no action was taken against them.
Further speaking about the slapping incident he said, “The word I used for PTI leaders was thieves and I still stand by my words.”
He said that Imran Khan amd Jehangir Tareen were tax evaders, and Imran Khan had even admitted that he benegfitted from a tax amnesty scheme.
“Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen have admitted in written statements that they stole money,” Aziz added.“The PTI chairman benefitted from the amnesty scheme, which is tantamount to tax evasion.” he continued
He further said Tareen admitted to insider training and even returned millions of rupees to Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
“Tareen used the names of his gardener and cook to do business worth millions. Both Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen are certified thieves,” he added.
The federal minister on Wednesday had claimed that the PTI has been pre-planned against him in order for him to retaliate. He said the complete footage of the incident was not shown which proves that that incident was already planned.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when Haq lost his temper during a TV show and slapped Aziz. Haq was apparently infuriated over remarks by Aziz in which the PML-N leader apparently called him a ‘thief’.
