Statues have a history of going disastrous. And no one can understand it better than Cristiano Ronaldo. The football icon’s bronze statue in Japan was hardly recognisable as Ronaldo and drew a flood of memes and criticism from his fans around the world.
The latest to join the club of botched statues is one of Game of Thrones’ most loved characters, the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen.
Superstar Emilia Clarke, who has played the iconic character in the series, had her wax statue unveiled recently at the National Wax Museum Plus in Dublin, Ireland.
The figurine was being sculpted since six months, and the museum was building up excitement around it since April 16. But when the veil was finally lifted on Wednesday, it was visible that the statue looked nothing like her.

Although the statue is clad in the royal blue gown and Targaryen’s iconic blonde white locks, the accessories and apparel don’t help in giving even a hint that the statue in question is that of Mother of Dragons.
Social media users were unforgiving in their criticism of the statue and the museum that commissioned it. Across the social media platforms, the museum was mocked and lambasted.
One Twitter user suggested the museum change its name from Wax Museum Plus to Wax Museum Minus.
Please change your name to Wax Museum Minus. Thank you.

Perhaps another user was too inspired by the burning of bodies, a custom in Game of Thrones to prevent the dead characters from joining the army of the ‘undead’. The user called for the burning of the statue.
That is the ugliest thing i have ever seen,
It doesnt look anything like Emilia !

Still, another user suggested the statue resembled more to David Beckham than the Khaleesi.
I'm still waiting on @JKCorden to come out and say he was behind the Daenerys wax works in Dublin. It looks more like David Beckham than @emiliaclarke

And coming back to the botched statue of Ronaldo, a user posted a comparison of the two massive fails of the sculpting and said the statue of Targaryen was as good as the one of Ronaldo.
As good as this one pic.twitter.com/ZHe1peEHRd
