SHEIKHUPURA: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) shot dead six terrorists — affiliated with a banned organization — in a police encounter in Sheikhupura, ARY News reported on Sunday.
CTD stated that nine terrorists had planned to carry out terrorist attacks on law enforcement agencies.
The anti-terror squad chased the terrorist down near Sheikhupura Bypass and told the terrorists to surrender.
The terrorists opened fire at the CTD personnel after which a gun battle took place. Six terrorists were gunned down by the retaliatory fire whereas three of their accomplices managed to escape.
Weapons, explosives and motorcycles were seized from the slain terrorists.
Search operations have been launched for the arrest of the other attackers.
