LAHORE: Security agencies arrested two suspected terrorists and foiled a plot of sabotage and terrorism in Bahawalnagar, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The law enforcement agencies have stepped up combing operations across Punjab after a terrorist attack on police training centre in Quetta on Monday, which claimed lives of 62 police cadets.
The Counter Terrorism Department of police foiled a plot to detonate a bus terminal in Bahawalnagar and arrested two terror suspects along with explosives in a successful raid, officials said.
The arrested terrorists were members of an outlawed militant group, CTD officials said.
Police launched a house to house search in various parts of Chinniot and arrested seven suspects.
The personal details of 159 persons were confirmed with biometric machine, officials said.
Police also conducted search operations in Lahore’s Green Town, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Area and adjacent localities and arrested seven suspects who failed to prove their identity.
Moreover, police in a search operation in Chanchal Singh Wala in Faisalabad recovered unlicenced arms.
