The landlord, Muhammad Bux, was arrested by police for making two youths apologize him publicly – with their shoes inside their mouth – through a jirga (village council), after their donkey-cart mistakenly collided with his vehicle.

The poor laborers were forced to ask for influential lord’s pardon by holding their shoes in their mouth. ARY News aired the story after the footage of the incident surfaced and went viral.

Bux’s arrest came after Chief Minister Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah took notice of ARY News’ story.

Police today produced the arrogant landlord before the civil court, wherefrom he was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Friday staged a demonstration outside Karachi Press Club protesting the inhuman punishment handed to poor youngsters.

It is pertinent to mention here that feudal lords in rural areas of country, especially Sindh and Punjab, are seen maltreating poor people quite often.

The victims often face atrocities and injustices at the hands of local lords, as police too remains helpless in laying hands on influential culprits.

Majority of such cases go unreported; if one comes to light, it rarely sees the culprits being handed punishment.
