Mashhadi was accused of facilitating and listening to his party chief’s speech criticising the military establishment.
On December 5, 2015, the investigating officer had informed the ATC that the Mashhadi was not chargesheeted in an investigation report for lack of evidence and was discharged under Section 169 (release of accused when evidence deficient) of the criminal procedure code.
The investigation report said that Senator Mashhadi was not found among the audience at the party headquarters during the speech.
