RAWALPINDI: In an apparent reply to PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Friday said that comments against head of premier intelligence agency ISI are baseless and misleading, ARY News reported.
“Comments by few regarding head of premier int agency are baseless, misleading and unwarranted. Integrity of armed forces is beyond reproach,” DG ISPR wrote on his official Twitter account.

In a presser outside parliament today, Aitzaz Ahsan said that Sharif family has family relations with Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s top intelligence agency.
“ISI ke saath taaluq inka khandani hai”, Aitzaz had said during the presser.
Aitzaz was commenting on JIT formed in the light of Supreme Court verdict in the Panamagate case on April 20. The apex court had ordered the JIT to comprise one senior official each from NAB, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and the Military Intelligence (MI)

The Panama case verdict
The Supreme Court of Pakistan announced the Panama case verdict on April 20. The 549-page judgment says there was insufficient evidence to order Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s removal from office.
The bench orders formation of a JIT to continue the investigation against the Sharif family. Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hussain and Hasan have been directed to appear before the JIT.
