LAHORE: CIA Nawan Kot on Sunday arrested notorious encounter specialist Abid Boxer in Lahore and within hours he was released, ARY News reported.
A murder case is registered at Millat Park police station against Abid Boxer.
He and claimant of the case were summoned at Nawan Kot CIA center for probe purpose, where both of them had exchange of hot words following which Abid Boxer was confined in a lockup.
He was later released following detention of few hours.
A local court had last month granted interim bail to the encounter specialist in as many as 10 criminal cases.
Some of the cases registered against him pertained to murder, attempted murder and land-grabbing.
The authorities had informed the Lahore High Court that Abid Boxer was in their custody since February this year.
Deputy Attorney General Syed Zafar Abbas Gilani told the court that former police officer, who was involved in many criminal acts, has been brought back to Pakistan from Dubai in February.
