ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here today to discuss bilateral ties.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid were also present on the occasion.
The Chinese Foreign Minister arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit on Friday. He is the first Chinese official to visit Pakistan since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government assumed office last month.
A day earlier, Mr Wang held delegation-level talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Qureshi assured his counterpart that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would continue to remain top priority of the government.
“We need a substantive progress on the CPEC which is of immense strategic and national importance for Pakistan. The implementation of CPEC projects is top priority of the government,” the FM said.
