A young woman, Zeenat Rafiq, was allegedly burnt to death by her mother for marrying without family’s consent in Lahore.
Initial post-mortem report suggests that Zeenat was taking her last breaths while she was burnt. Evidences have been found that her respiratory tract was filled with smoke when she breathed her last. All her body was burnt except feet.
In another incident, a woman is said to have allegedly consumed acid after getting it drink to two of her daughters following a dispute with her husband in Multan.
One of the neighbours told media that the woman, Tayyaba, had a fight with her husband. After her husband had left for work, she got her daughters, Minahil and Hijab, drink acid and locked them in a room.
