Asad Shah, 40, was reportedly stabbed 30 times by a Muslim man clad in a long robe. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
“Good Friday and very happy Easter, especially to my beloved Christian nation x!” the deceased had apparently posted from his account.
Police have rounded up a 32-year-old suspect in connection with the ‘religiously prejudiced’ attack.
A silent vigil was held in the memory of Shah, with flowers being placed at the scene of incident in Minard Road, Shawlands.
Shah’s death left residents of the locality in shock as they expressed sorrow describing him a ‘gentleman’.
A number of people from different faiths took to Twitter to pay tribute to Shah using the hashtag #thisisnotwhoweare.
