Border management part of anti-terror drive: FO

In a statement, Foreign Office said infiltration of terrorists could be blocked with effective border management.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on June 16 had said Pakistan was constructing the border gate at Torkham within its territorial limits.

Aziz vowed that Pakistan will continue the construction work at the border gate despite the volatile situation and the hostility shown by Afghanistan.

Aziz said that border management was important for both countries and there will be no compromise on it.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office expressed grave concern over reports regarding the latest missile tests conducted by North Korea in violation of UN Security Council Resolutions.

In a statement, FO hoped that Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will desist from steps that are inimical to regional peace and stability.

The statement pointed out that Pakistan has been a consistent supporter of a nuclear weapons free Korean Peninsula, as agreed by all parties.
