According to details, Jamali sent his resignation to the provincial president Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Nawab Sanaullah Zehri. He was accused of violating party discipline during the senate elections.

Jamali is the son of prominent Baloch leader Mir Noor Mohammad Jamali. Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali was first elected as a member of Provincial Assembly of Balochistan in 1997. He was Chairman of the Pakistani Senate until 2012.

During the senate polls, PML-N leaders failed to persuade Jan Jamali to withdraw his daughter in favour of party’s candidate on a seat reserved for women.

But, Mr Jamali refused to withdraw his daughter Mrs Sana Jamali from the contest. Mr Jamali told the PML-N leaders that the central leadership had awarded tickets without consulting the party’s provincial parliamentary board.
