Siraj-ul-Haq, speaking to media on Friday, said that all agencies have held Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) responsible for the tragic incident. He added that the provincial government should have taken strict action against the responsible persons.
He also stated that Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Major General Rizwan Akhtar had also mentioned the investigation report of the factory fire.
“The PPP government should be supporting the labourers. More than 259 workers were burnt alive in the factory blaze”, he said.
The JI Chief said that that the provincial government resumed dialogue with MQM after the investigation report was disclosed by the law enforcing agencies.
At least 250 labourers were killed in the blaze which broke out in a garments factory on 11th September, 2012 at Baldia Town area of the city. The investigation agencies alongwith concerned authorities have not yet managed to arrest the culprits behind the incident.
