PESHAWAR: A former personal secretary of estranged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarian Ayesha Gulalai, who filed a complaint in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against her, was on Sunday killed in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Noor Zaman was shot by unknown motorcyclists as he was walking outside his house in Tajori area of Lakki Marwat. Rescue officials shifted him to a nearby hospital where he was passed away due to excessive blood loss.
Police said that assailants fled after the incident and are being identified with the help of testimonies of eyewitnesses. A case has been filed against unknown assailants as police said the cause of the murder was likely a personal enmity.
In August, Noor Zaman had filed a complaint in NAB and the Khyber Pakhtunkwa Ehtehsaab Commission against Ayesha Gulalai and her father citing alleged corruption in development projects and was supposed to submit further evidences.
Noor Zaman has also served as a personal secretary for Gulalai. He had also alleged that Gulalai demanded one million rupees for a ticket for councilor in the local government elections.
Recently the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had dismissed an application by PTI chairman Imran Khan to unseat Gulalai from her reserved seat in the National Assembly.
Gulalai shot to prominence after she announced to quit the PTI in August after accusing Imran Khan of sending inappropriate text message and other party leaders of harassment.
