ISLAMABAD: The wellhead gas prices of 23 fields are augmented by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), with effect from 1st July, 2018 according to the notification issued.
According to official details, the price reconsideration will also be done as gas utilities consisting Sui Southern Gas Company & Sui Northern Gas Pipelines will forward a appeal for amplification of consumer tariff, which is due to take effect on December 31, 2018.
According to the notification issued, 35% hike is observed as the highest that has been made in the wellhead price of Mari field from Rs141.15 per million British thermal units (mmbtu) to Rs189.16 per mmbtu.
This has been accredited to the amendment in the Petroleum Policy 2012 in an endeavor to persuade gas production.
Furthermore, the wellhead price for Loti gas field has been elevated by almost 11%, resulting in the price from Rs152.99 per mmbtu to Rs168.28.
As far as Meyal and Dhulian gas field are considered, the wellhead price has been augmented by 10%, due to which the rate will increase from Rs143.16 per mmbtu to Rs157.46.
Similarly, the cost for Daru gas field has been elevated to Rs157.46 per mmbtu from Rs143.16, which is also 10% hike.
