Addressing a press conference here, the minister said a request had been sent to Afghan President Hamid Karzai for release of Khan. If needed, we will also hold a direct talk with Mr. Karzai, added the minister.
Flanked by Khan’s wife and PFUJ president Afzal Butt, Rasheed said it is expected that Khan would soon return to the country.
Faizullah Khan’s wife also appealed the Afghan president for release of her husband. PFUJ president thanked the government for their efforts in safe release of ARY News reporter.
Khan had mistakenly crossed the Afghan territory during official reporting assignment and was detained by Afghan forces as he lacked necessary identity documents.
