KARACHI: Congratulations pour in for Pakistan cricket team from the army chief, celebrities and politicians after their splendid victory over Australia in the final of the Twenty20 tri-series at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.
Opener Fakhar Zaman cracked a career-best 91 to help set up Pakistan’s six-wicket win.
Zaman shared in a century stand with Shoaib Malik as Pakistan recovered from an early wobble in their pursuit of Australia’s 183 for 8, and Malik then showed all the experience of an 18-year international career to see his team home with an unbeaten 43.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has congratulated team Pakistan for retaining T20 top cricket team ranking.
In a tweet, Director General Inter Services Public Relations Asif Ghafoor said, “Pakistan is a resilient, peaceful and sports loving nation.”
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan also congratulated the team especially Captain Sarfraz Ahmed “for the way he led the team”.

technique wankers can go back in their caves. I’d take this Fakhar Zaman with poor technique over ten others who’d choke in pressure situation w/ good technique. this man is here to stay. #AUSvPAK

That was an epic win for Pakistan v Australia. Following the progress of their T20 team at the moment is a real pleasure – they’ve built up from the foundation of an exceptional bowling attack, are improving their power-hitting & are now becoming very difficult to beat. #AusvPak pic.twitter.com/WNdg0lRLd8

Chasing 184 to win and at 2/2 most teams would have crumbled – but not this young Pakistan team. It seems they are never beaten & nothing phases them #Cricket #AUSvPAK
