KASHMORE: A police officer was shot dead during an exchange of fire with armed thieves in Kashmore city, ARY News reported.
According to details, a contingent of police, after receiving a tip-off regarding theft of animals in Kashmore carried out a raid to recover the stolen cattle.
The armed thieves opened fire at the police party after which a gunfight broke out. A policeman Sadiq, was killed during the exchange of fire, police sources said.
Three policemen including the Station House Officer (SHO) sustained bullet injuries in the gun battle.
The gunmen managed to escape from the scene after the shootout.
Police has launched a search operation in the area after the incident and detained 10 suspected persons, law enforcement sources said.
The police also destroyed the hideouts of the criminals in the area involved in crimes.
