Amir likely to make come back in domestic cricket soon

Chief Executive of International Cricket Council (ICC) David Richardson said that rules on banned players are likely to be relaxed.

During the news conference at ICC headquarter in Dubai today, David Richardson said the revised code is being discussed in the meetings and hopefully we could bring it to you in finality in the November meeting.

The revised code will allow banned players to play domestic cricket six months before the end of their term. It will specifically benefit Mohammad Aamer whose five year ban expires in August next year. Amir can make a comeback in domestic by March 2015.

Amir has serving a 5-year ban after being found involved in spot-fixing during the Lord’s Test against England in 2010.

Mohammad Amir played 14 Tests, 16 ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals for Pakistan prior to ban.
