Altaf Hussain, in a statement today, said Mualana Abdul Aziz was moving freely despite registration of two First Information Reports (FIRs) against him in Islamabad and Karachi.

“Abdul Aziz not only free from grasp of law but also addressing people without facing any restriction. In view of FIRs filed against him, it is government’s responsibility to arrest him immediately”, said Hussain.

MQM chief also asked the government to devise strong strategy regarding repeated orders from the court about bail and detention of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.

Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, who is accused of terror siege in India’s commercial capital, was granted bail on December 18 by an anti-terror court but authorities later detained him under public order law, which in turn was then suspended by the Islamabad High Court on December 29. While today (Wednesday) Supreme Court of Pakistan again reimposed a detention order on the alleged mastermind of 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Hussain suggested government to impose ban on group of preachers delivering hate speeches and spreading hatred among masses.

Congratulating members of parliament and senate on passing 21st Constitution Amendment, Hussain prayed to Almighty Allah for the people of Pakistan, parliamentary and military leadership to attain their desired objectives through amendment.

Advising authorities to make bold decisions, Hussain said ‘Angels’ will not descend from sky to stabilize Pakistan but people have to do it at their own.
