Former renowned cricketer Shahid Afridi has announced to donate 1.5 million rupees to the ‘Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Funds’ created to raise funds for the construction of the two dams.
Afridi commended the Pakistan Army and the Chief Justice of Pakistan for their efforts for water preservation. He announced to donate 0.5 million rupees personally and a further one million rupees from the Shahid Afridi Foundation.
Afridi, who is currently out of the country for several promotional activities, would deliver the amount upon return. He said that everyone should do their bit for Pakistan and pave the way for future generations.

Furthermore, actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has also donated Rs.300,000 to the funds for dams construction, and requested others to play their part as well.
He said that he fully trusts the Chief Justice and Supreme Court that they will deliver on this urgent issue facing the country. He urged other to contribute to the fund as well.
