Adele and Ed Sheeran dominated the nominations for BRIT Awards 2022, with four nominations each.
On Saturday, Ed Sheeran and Adele were announced to be leading the list of nominations for upcoming year’s BRIT Awards, both having four nominations each.
Rappers Dave and Little Simz also bagged four nominations each on them, in the list of Britain’s annual honors of pop music.
Last month, organizers dropped a hint about introducing gender-neutral awards in the upcoming event, and subsequently, have added the categories of ‘Artist of the year’ and ‘International Artist of the year’.

Adele, with her chartbuster album ’30’ managed to claim four nominations to her account, including the one for ‘Best Album’, competing with other top nominees, Dave, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, and Sam Fender for the category.

These artists will be sharing the nominations for the ‘Artist of the year’ category as well, exhibiting some major competition. ‘International Artist of the year’ nominations for the prestigious honors feature Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift.

The 42nd edition of the BRIT Awards in 2022, will also initiate four genre awards, including Best dance, Best rock/alternative, Best pop/R&B, Best hip-hop/grime/rap. Leading nominees, Adele and Ed Sheeran have also been nominated for the Best pop/R&B, along with Dua Lipa, Griff, and Joy Crookes.

Holly Humberstone has already been announced the winner of the Rising Star award, by the organizers. 2022 event of BRIT Awards is scheduled for February 8 and will be organized in London.
