For those of you who are fans of Aamir Khan and were impressed by his 1999 hit film Sarfarosh, should buckle up for some ecstatic news. According to director John Mathews, the sequel to Sarfarosh will happen next year. Exciting, isn’t it?
“The sequel to Sarfarosh will take some time. I am not ready with a proper script as of yet. It will happen next year. Presently, I am busy with two-three other scripts,” said John. According to the director, it was Aamir Khan himself who felt that the movie was too good and a sequel should also be released. The Dangal actor had urged Matthews to star working on a script for the sequel in 2013.
John however didn’t reveal much about the plot of the movie but dispelled the impression that the story would be similar to its predecessor.
“The sequel will have a different story. We are yet to zero-in on an area around which the plot would revolve”, he said.
Sarfarosh is one of Aamir’s most acclaimed movies from the 90s which also garnered immense critical praise. Aamir Khan played the role of Ajay Singh Rathod, a Mumbai Crime Branch stern police officer who does his all to rein in cross-border terrorism. Naseeruddin Shah played the villain in the movie whereas actress Sonali Bendre played the lead role opposite Aamir in Sarfarosh.
At the moment, the actor is busy shooting for Dangal in which he plays a wrestler. Aamir had put on a lot of weight for the film so that he fit the description of the wrestler he was to portray in the movie.
