The state convener of AAP Dr Rajan Sushant said his party believed that India should play cricket with friendly nations and not with those who were supporting terrorism.

“Our party’s stand is very clear. India should play cricket with only friendly nations and not those who were supporting terrorism or sending trained militants to attack India and claim lives of jawans guarding the borders. Has Prime Minister Narendra Modi forgotten his own words to claim 10 heads for one soldier killed by the Pakistanis?” Sushant was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

He also said the party was opposed to hosting Pakistan elsewhere in the country and said the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was trying to rub salt into the wounds of martyrs.

“It’s BCCI which is trying to make it a tamasha by inviting the Pakistan team on the soil, which has nearly two lakh servicemen and over a lakh serving soldiers. There should not be match with Pakistan in any of the Indian states,” he said.

A team from Pakistan is likely to assess the security situations in Dharamsala on Monday before taking a final call on their team’s participation.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had asked an interior minister to ensure fool-proof security for the team in coordination with the Pakistani High Commissioner in Delhi.
