The petition filed by Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed pleaded that the sessions court announced the verdict before submission of the report of the Joint Investigation Team and the Judicial Commission. The plea further said that the culprits of the Model Town tragedy are yet to be determined.
The plea further said that the sessions court has ignored several facts of the incident. It called the court decision of registration of case against 21 persons including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and others as unlawful and pleaded to the court to declare the decision as null and void.
Chief Justice High Court has sent the plea to the court of Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa for hearing. The court will hear the case on August 25th.
