In a media briefing in Bannu, he said government took measures on war-footing basis to evacuate internally displaced persons from the North Waziristan. Around 9,50,000 IDPs have been registered so far, while 6,00,000 of them were now verified.
Major Rao told that ration weighing 12,000 tonnes had been distributed among the IDPs. The Pak Army spokesperson said we welcomed foreign NGOs for assistance of IDPs and they would be extended all-out cooperation.
We have devised a three-pronged strategy to assist and rehabilitate the IDPs, he added.
