ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said the international community must realize that Pak-India escalation will destabilize the region and later the world at large.

On Twitter, the minister said, “The world will be more divided and extremism [will reach] at new peaks…. and the extremism will be the ultimate winner.”

Chaudhry urged the world to work together to avert this situation.

Showing concerns the Acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan has also urged India and Pakistan to defuse the tensions and  avoid further military action.

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has also offered mediation between both countries for defusing the tensions.

The soaring tensions reached a new height between the two neighbouring countries as  two fighter jets of Indian Air Force were shot down by Pakistan Air Force in bright day light on Wednesday.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said the military action from Pakistan was a demonstration of its defense capability as a reaction towards violation of Line of Control by Indian fighter jets on Feb 26.
