KARACHI: At least 4,000 people were recruited in the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis on the basis of favouritism, while former Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Farooq Sattar was the federal minister, ARY News reported.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfiqar Hussain Bukhari has confirmed of the bogus hiring in the ministry and said soon a case would be filed with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in this regard.
“These hiring were made in 2010 and 2011. Degrees of these employees are also being verified and financial embezzlement during Farooq Sattar’s tenure is also being looked into,” he said.

Zulfiqar said the case would be sent to the NAB after getting clear evidences of graft.
Sources revealed that hundreds of them possessed forged educational documents. Data of such people has also been found who never attended the office, they added.
“The bogus hiring have inflicted millions of rupees’ loss to the public exchequer,” said the sources.
