ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) on Monday suspended interim orders of Sindh High Court (SHC) on ban on liquor sale in Sindh, during the hearing session.
Following a verdict by SHC endorsing ban on sale of liquor, the vendors filed an appeal in SC.
A division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Aijaz Afzal, heard the case.
During the hearing, the bench remarked that 1989 law pertaining to sale of liquor existed and on violation of the law police can be approached.
Regarding the orders by SHC of ban on liquor sale and closure of shops, Supreme Court termed it against the law.
