The police launched a search operation of guest houses and staying places at bus terminals on the route of the Moharram mourning processions on Sunday night and detained around 20 suspects, officials said.
The search operation in Saddar and Aram Bagh police stations’ jurisdictions, was launched on the intelligence reports about presence of criminals, police officials said.
A large contingent of the police conducted searches at various guest houses and gathered identity details of the people staying there.
The people who failed to produce their identification papers were detained for further questioning, officials said.
