While most conservatives who were fed up of the menace of pornography, were relieved at the Indian government’s decision to ban porn, Sonam Kapoor did not agree to their stance. The Bollywood actress was so mad at the ban imposed on porn that she took to Twitter and angrily tweeted against the government’s decision.
Calling those who banned porn ‘idiots’, this is what Sonam Kapoor tweeted:-
Ban idiots who think banning things is going to make a difference to Indian mentality.. #sooverthisgovt #NextBanIdea #sick #ashamed

Internet service providers like Vodafone, MTNL and BSNL are showing blank pages instead of porn sites and this effect took place on Saturday night.

Other celebrities, such as Indian director Ram Gopal Varma had also tweeted in favour of the ban on porn:-
Indians love porn and the proof is India currently ranked #5 in overall traffic online, with USA ranking at #1 — Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) August 3, 2015
Filmmaker Vishal Dadlani also voiced his disapproval of the ban on porn in India.
I wouldn’t be surprised. Ironically, banned by the same party whose MPs were caught watching porn in parliament. https://t.co/qcUmiQm0kY

Sonam Kapoor is one of the biggest celebrities in India that pertain to the film industry. Her sudden, apparent anger at the ban on porn might be her own opinion (for which she might be entitled to) however, it could be taken in the wrong context. Former adult actress Sunny Leone has also faced discrimination and ridicule at times for her past association with adult films.
Sonam might be free to say what’s on her mind but such an outburst might portray a wrong side of Sonam altogether. Sonam will next be seen opposite Salman Khan in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
